Yesterday was a
special day for Dorothy. It was her 14th birthday so her mum invited eight
friends to the house. They arrived at four o'clock and Dorothy's mum gave them
all a drink and made sandwiches.
Then everyone went to the park. They played football and then sat and talked. Dorothy's mum stayed at home and made Dorothy's birthday cake.
Everyone came back at six o'clock. When they walked into the kitchen, they found a big cake on the table! 'Happy Birthday,' said Dorothy's mum. Everyone sang happy birthday to her and had some of the lovely chocolate cake. They then watched cartoons on TV. At 11.30 pm everyone left and Dorothy went to bed tired but happy.
